I'm going to chime in and say that your breasts are never really empty. Think of them like factories, not storage facilities.

It sounds like a growth spurt as 3 months is a prime time for one. I'd continue to nurse. The more you nurse, the more you will make.

You are never actually "empty". You're body is ALWAYS making milk, the more the baby nurses the more milk you will make. So even if you think you're empty, nursing on demand is the best thing to do or you could cause supply problems. I agree that it sounds like a growth spurt. I don't have any advice for formula feeding, and personally I don't see why it would be needed in your situation. But it's up to you. Good luck.

Your breast really doesn't ever get empty - babies are very good at getting the milk out and even when they feel empty baby can usually get more out - also the more you feed or let him suck the more milk you will make :)

Is your choice to give him formula and I respect that, but It sounds like a growth spurt to me. So I would closter feed (feed everytime he wants and even if you think you don't have more milk) This will make you produce more milk. Sometimes, I feel I don't have more milk left and I can't pump any milk, but my daughter can still get some out. Hope this helps!
