I am going back to work in 2 wks and realize that my Medela Pump N Style is just too cumbersome for work...I have looked into the Medela Freestyle and it seems like a good choice except its pretty expensive...any thoughts or suggestions on this topic??

I have the Freestyle, and so far I really like it. I've never used another breast pump since this is my first child. I've only used it 3 times so far since I just delivered 8 days ago. I'm actually pumping right now while surfing Facebook. The pump is really quiet, and I love that I can do other things while I'm pumping. The whole contraption looks pretty funny, but I anticipate it being quite useful to be able to continue working in my office while I pump. I'll be able to get my work done faster and get home sooner. I just tested the set up with an Itsy Ritzy cover, and it stays hidden quite nicely.

The only down side is I can't pump directly into the 2.5oz storage bottles by Medela. Looks like it breaks the vacuum or something. I've read some reviews on Amazon.com complaining about the battery life, but it appears Medela has good customer service and has replaced the batteries for people fairly quickly.

I have the Lansinoh double electric pump...it doesnt come with a bag but it is so small and light weight that i can throw it in a medium sized purse and you would never know..it cost around 150$ at walmart

I use a Pump in style advance..probably same as yours. I just come in everyday looking like some sort of pack mule! It works though and has kept up my milk supply. I would suggest putting some extra milk in the freezer in case your baby gets extra hungry while you are away, but you need to pump at least every 3 hours or so at work to keep up your supply. I would not buy the extra pump..you might want to buy a bunch of the shields and bottles though. For me trying to re clean and sterilize the shields (even with the microwave bags) is too hard. I bring 3 sets of bottles and sheilds all put together and ready to go in plastic freezer bags with me so I cna just pump, put the milk awayand throw the used shields in the bag. I then take it all home and wash and boil it nightly

I went with the Pump N Style, but I usually left it in my office, so I only was carrying a cooler bag with the milk to and from work.

hi,you could always express your milk with the pump you already have and freeze it ,this does mean you would have to start expressing now tho but hopefully this will work and you wont have to buy an expensive 1
