Did you try Stonybrook hospital? or another local hospital?

Hi! I'm on Long Island...My cousin gave me her medela breast pump, she used it for a little with her twins, and then she gave it to me. Its in great condition. I never used it. Do you want it?? no charge..I'd be happy if someone was able to use it. I have accessories for it, most new and some used..Let me know :)

Unless you only need the pump for a little bit, it's more economical to buy one. I found a medical supply company online and bought a Pump In Style for $240, free shipping. It sounds like a lot, but if you rent, you have to purchase the tubing, etc. anyway- they only rent the motor and casing. By the time you buy that kit, you might as well have bought the entire pump. If you are insistent on renting one, I would either call your local La Leche or your hospital's breast feeding consultant can probably help you out.

Hospitals usually have breast pumps to rent, or have contact info for lactation centers and such that would rent them.

I also seen recently that Babies R Us is renting pumps, hospital grade pumps actually. The one by my house rents the Medela Symphony. I rented that same pump for 3 months to establish a good supply (60oz) and then 4 months later when I went back to work, I bought myself a Medela Pump In Style. If you establish a good supply and have it in you to pump, I'd definitely invest in a good pump, it's so worth it! The pump I rented was about 70 bucks a month. Good luck!

You might try calling your local La Leche League Leader. She would probably have a recommendation for you.
