With out going into tons of detail, my daughter nurses only on one breast and I'm really lopsided. When I ween her and will my breasts be close to the same size? ( I'm already considering implants!)

i have a similar problem. my daughter feeds on both sides just fine, but i produce more on my right side for some reason i even tried starting her on the left side every time i fed her for several days but it didn't really make a difference, so i think my problem is just something weird with me. and since she doesn't have any problems feeding on both sides i don't really worry too much, has anyone with this problem tried pumping on the neglected side while baby is feeding on the side baby prefers?

I'm so glad to hear other moms have the same problem as me - I thought it was just me! My daughter is 8 mos old and has for the past 4 mos or so only taken my right breast. I generally don't really care but when I haven't nursed her in awhile and I'm filled with milk, you can really see the difference. I do hope they both go back to normal after weaning! lol.

This happened to me too!  But this time, my littlest one prefered my right boob even earlier than my last bf baby did.  I've tried to get her to take the left one, but she'll only take it at night when she's half asleep.  I'm beginning to consider stuffing the left side of my bra!  LOL

I'm glad that works out for you. It's wonderful that the baby hasn't had to have formula.

I think probably they would even out after you wean. The length of breastfeeding duration really doesn't have an effect on breast size. Both breasts filled with milk initially, one just does not produce as much. Breast size is related mostly to the amount of fatty tissue, not milk ducts.

Hi Mandy,

My oldest daughter preferred one side over the other and I thought I had resolved the lopsided issue by my youngest daughter feeding on the opposite side-but no!She has now decided she wants the same side her sister has wanted to feed off for the last 18months!

I know you can buy bras that are made for women who have had a masectomy and maybe that would be a less expensive option to see whether your breasts will even out eventually?!

Good luck

Quoting Vanessa:

They should even out, but how did it happen that your baby only feeds on one breast. Do you supplement?

She just refused to feed on the other breast for whatever reason. I tried for many mo. (shes almost 11 mo. now) to get her to feed and finally just gave up. Fortunately one breast is producing enough milk and she is healthy and never had to take formula.

I'm in the same boat, I posted a question too! I really hope they even out, and people who wrote back to me so far say they probably will.

I am having the same problem, my 9 month old has nursed on one side for the last 5 months so I am very differnt in size, and it is very noticable. I have been told that they will go back to normal when she is done breastfeeding so my fingers are crossed! Good luck to you!
