my son is now 5 weeks old and since from the time he was 3 weeks, i been having this burning feeling on my breasts when i breastfeed him. It's usually when i feed him on one breast and when the other side is leaking, it burns. Why is this???

My let downs tingled/burned. So it may be nothing serious. I thought it was thrush, but it went away after a few weeks.

oh man! i know the feeling, call your doctor and talk to them about "thrush" its a yeast infection in the breasts and in the babies mouth.. its pretty common and its a pain in the bottom to get rid of but i had the same symptoms with the burning pain when feeding and after a feeding..

Everyone is different but at first my letdown felt like burning, now its just a strange tingling sensation. If it hurts and youre worried about it call your doctor. Thats what they are there for : )

sometimes it can come from a improper latch on and then they also begin eating faster as they grow and learn i still get it at times and my son is 3 months old.

sounds like it could be the "let down" reflex. Does it burn right from the time he latches or after he starts sucking for a bit? Is it both breasts at the same time? You might want to rule out thrush as well. You can look on Kellys mom for signs and symptoms of thrush.
