I am breastfeeding my little one and lately had the worst cramps... they are like the cramps i got when i was pregnant with him. Sorry if TMI but had sexual intercourse and now am bleeding when I go to the bathroom..... just so confused.

How old is your little one? If you are exclusively breastfeeding and are past the 6-week mark of bleeding after giving birth that you really shouldn't be bleeding (I didn't get a period until my daughter was 6 months old). I would definitely call your OB and tell them what's going on. Like the other two ladies said, cramping is normal in the first few weeks because your uterus is returning to its original size and breastfeeding actually makes the process go faster, but you shouldn't be bleeding a lot.

I still get some cramping and my son is 8 weeks old. It was much stronger in the beginning as my uterus was still shrinking back to normal size, I've already had my 6 week postpartum check and my OB said everything was back to normal size, but even now, especially during my letdown (which are wicked strong) I'll get uterus/vaginal cramping almost like after "rougher" sex... sorry if that is TMI, I don't have bleeding, but will occasionally have pink tinged discharge, and my husband and I have only had intercourse a few times since the 6 week check.

Cramping during breastfeeding for the first few weeks after delivery is normal. Your little one is stimulating the release of hormones while nursing and these hormones help your uterus to return to it's normal size. If you are bleeding a lot and it's not your period then I would consider seeing your doctor.
