Breastfeeding for 5 months, ovulation type cramps and pinching, but no period?

Hello :)

The tile says it well. My daughter will be 5 months old in 4 days, and I've been exclusively breastfeeding her until she was 3 months and a half, when I decided to give her a bit of cereal before bed.

Other than that I still breastfeed her. I never did it ecologically: she has a pacifier & eats cereals and homemade fruit purée once in a while, which she loves! :)

Also, I stopped taking Micronor (mini pill) on October 11 because even though it isn't supposed to, it brought down my milk supply greatly.

So! To make a long story short, she goes without feeding at night for periods of 5 to 8 hours and during the day 2 to 4 hours in general. It has been like that since she was 2 and a half months old.

On November 2 and 3 I had pretty bad ovulation type pinching and cramps on both sides where the ovaries are. (Before that's how I know I was ovulating...) It was pretty intense. I had more vaginal discharge too. A few days after that I had pain as if I was going to star my period, but nothing happened.

Is it because I'm breastfeeding too often still? Do you think my body is just playing tricks on me, that it's just getting ready to start my cycles again?

Maybe I did ovulate? How was it for you?

Thanks ladies, I appreciate it! It's good for me to talk about it with other women! :)

When your period returns for the first time after having a baby - it can actually take several months after the onset of "symptoms" of it returning. When I got mine back I was worried I was pregnant again. I'd had all the pre period symptoms, then no period. Then I started feeling breast tenderness, and still no period. Since that was my first symptom with my last pregnancy, that's why I thought I might be pregnant again. BUT... after a home test, and a trip to the DR., I discovered that I was not pregnant, just beginning to get my cycle back. Took another 6 weeks after to get it too. Ugh! What a process.

Oh boy...it's been 6 weeks since I've stopped taking the mini-pill... :/ I guess I should expect to feel this way for a while still! Thanks for sharing, it was very useful!! :)

I'm actually having pregnancy symptoms... even nausea and food aversion! I'll wait...it's been 15-16 days since I've had those ovulation cramps. I should test just to make sure but I'm pretty certain that my cycles are just getting ready to return.
