Breastfeeding while pregnant

I'm still nursing my nearly 11 month old on demand, well almost on demand. I won't do it after "owies" or just as a comfort thing, I prefer to hold her and reassure her I'm here w/o the boobie especially since she's trying to go up my shirt and self-serve :) I'm 7 wks preggo and am at the sore-nipple stage, did I mention my baby has 4 teeth and I'm pretty sure her 5th is trying to come in. I can't feel when my milk lets-down anymore (I did before I was pregnant) so I watch her sucking reflexes and that's when I know my milk has come in and usually by then there will be a slight tightness in my breast. That being said, there are times when I feed her that the milk never does come in for example, night feedings. I'm supposed to have full breast this stage in my pregnancy but I doubt I'll get there breastfeeding at the same time. I'm not sure but I think I bf her every 3-4 hrs depending on what time she wakes up and how it falls onto meal times.

Her meals are relatively balanced however I have to be careful about eggs and chicken they seem to plug her up if I give her too much. She can have about 1/2 an egg with yogurt or applesauce and we're ok but if I give her chicken also then there won't be poop for a couple of days. So I'm wondering if she's getting enough fats and proteins in her diet. She's around 25lbs, has quite a few chub rolls so she looks healthy. She loves all kinds of fruits and veggies but I'm doubting if she's getting enough Iron and Protein. She has her 3 meals with us at the table (which 98% of the time is what we're eating) and I'll sometimes remember to give her a snack in between, cheerios or fruit/veggies.

I was thinking about getting the Mother's Milk Tea since fenugreek doesn't seem to work fast enough for me. I took it as directed 15 drops, 2-3 times @ day but it took a couple of days before I noticed any changes. I'm am trying to monitor my water so that it's even everyday not 2 glasses one day and 5 the next.

I guess my question is, is anyone else pregnant and breastfeeding with sore nipples and a teething child? Is the soreness eventually going to go away or will it last my whole pregnancy? Should I be concerned about my baby's health or should I just relax?

I got pregnant for my youngest when my middle was 5 1/2 mos and I breastfed until he was 9 1/2 mos...The nipple tenderness did go away after the first trimester.
My lactation consultant told me that it goes 'fetus, bfed baby,mom'....Your baby (in your tummy!) will get what it needs and then your milk supply will suffer (IF it's going to....)
All this will be taken FROM you.
Expect to get totally exhausted-I did it was horrible!!!

I am 5 weeks pregnant and BFing on demand a 7 month old. She is healthy and has chubby rolls as well. (so cute) I am interested in how you all go with BFing and sore nipples and supply. I hope to continue with BFing until she is 1 year, but at the moment I don't want to tandem feed. There will be enough stress and pressure on me when a new baby comes along. Especially with 15 months between them.

I plan on just watching her weight gain and I hope that she loves her boobies so much she will just keep feeding. I definately don't want to feel guilty about her weaning too early. And I'm not ready to lose our relationship yet.

my son is 14 months old and has a few teeth, thats not the teeth you feel i think its the tenderness. I have sore nipples also, I am pregnant to by the way 8 weeks. You can breatst feed all the way through only a lot of woman will find the baby will wean off as it changes back to collistrum for the next baby. I am just going to have it out as long as I can. I hear the soreness does go down, always put lansinoh on it, it does help. They still be sore but not as bad. Relax your baby is near a year old. you can give cows milk after a year old or goats milk if you want to wean or you feel she isnt getting enough. I had the same concerns and asked in the LLL forum. After that you can tantum feed if your LO wants back on.
