Hello,
I currently have a 21 month old daughter who is breastfeeding about 3-4 times a day. When she's two, we are thinking of trying to conceive baby number two. I suspect my daughter will not want to wean as she is still very keen on breastfeeding. I just wanted to know if anyone out there has experience breastfeeding while pregnant and/or tandem feeding a toddler and newborn.

Thanks,
Lauren

I was nursing a toddler when I got pregnant with number 2. Not long after we found out I was pregnant he started to slow down on his nursings until he was down to just 1 a day. Because he reduced the amount he was nursing in a day my milk started to dry up. Once all my milk was gone my son nursed for about a month 'dry nursing' before he stopped all together.
This really suprised both my husband and I because our son was so into nursing we figured he would nurse until the day I delivered and then I would have to nurse them both.
We will have to see what happenes when I have the second on and if my son wants to go back to nursing
