My son has little bumps around his mouth and under his chin. They seem to come and go and his doctor is not worried, just says he has sensitive skin and to apply vaseline or lanolin. I was wondering if anyone else had this expereince. (I do not use any lotion on around my breasts so I do not think it's a reaction to whatever is on my skin)

I agree with the other replies. My daughter spent from about 5 months until almost 2 years with a similar sounding rash that would come and go. Both other moms and her doctor told me it was a drool rash from teething and once I thought about it I did notice it would get worse as a tooth was coming in and better after it poked out. Lanolin helped to protect her skin but I also found this little tube like chapstick made by Palmers called "face butter" (think you can get it at Babies r Us) was handy since I could carry it in my purse and apply easily and cleanly without my fingers.

Quoting Tennille:

How old is he? Maybe it is from him drooling? Due to Teething and/or Chewing on toys or fingers? My son has been getting little red dots around his chin and I know that's why!

He is 6months old.  He is teeting and chewing on fingers a lot!

My son has been the same way since birth and he is now 3½ months. I would say as long as they aren't filled with puss or just 'look wrong' then I wouldn't worry. He may just have extra sensitive skin, like my son. My daughter was fine, but all babies are different. Good Luck.
