Is it true that you do not need to burp a baby that is breastfed??

oh dd always had to burp. if you watch closely, you'll catch a change in them...they might slow down on the swallowing or start to wiggle. if you catch it and burp at that moment they usually won't spit up. waiting too long can put milk over the air so to speak...so when they do burp they bring it all up.

No, not at all. The still at at a steady pace. Sometimes more so than bottlefed so they do intake plenty of air. So I was told anyways!

I burp my bub and he rarely throws up. On the rare occasions that I don't do it, he'll burp by himself (eventually) but he usually brings up a little milk too.

No it's not true. My doctor actually recomended burping our son. If we don't he get terrible gas that causes him a lot of pain. He still has some trouble with gas so before feeding him I give him gas drops, Mylacon or Little Tummies. They seem to help.

I really don't burp my baby all that often. Most of the time when she's on me, she does it while eating. I hate having to wake her by moving her into a burping positon. when I do feel her stomach gurgling pretty badly though I will. I think those are the only ones that she has trouble bringing up. Well as far as my baby goes I think having to deal with the burping herself is having her develop her own ability to burp and handle her food. She rarely even spits up. Hope it helps. Just go by what your baby is telling you.
