My daughter is 2 weeks old, is breast fed and has started sleeping 5 hours when i put her down at night, will nurse then go back to sleep for another 4 hours...she had passed up her birth weight at her 2 week appointment. Should i still wake her up to eat at 3 hours or is it ok to let her sleep? She still nurses every 2-3 hours all day.

I agree with the info you have so far. just be sure you keep nursing on demand during the day as you will soon be nearing a growth spurt so if your baby continues to sleep well at night she will need to nurse more during the day. Also don't be surprised if her sleep changes as she grows. Many moms find that as babies reach milestones be they rolling over, standing up, getting a tooth that they have disrupted sleep for awhile. Good luck and enjoy these first precious days. Finding a local La Leche League meeting is a great way to get your questions answered and find support. www.llli.org

As long as she's not jaundiced (jaundice makes them sleepy), gaining weight OK, and having plenty of diapers..
