You can take the mini pill (or POP). Breastfeeding can be used as bc, but don't rely on it if you are pumping and not feeding every 4-6 hours... Pumping doesn't cause your body to make the same hormones... And once you start having a period, you will know that the breastfeeding is not preventing conception.

I'm on one that Micronor makes, also known as the mini-pill as the others have said. It is Progesterone only so it's not as effective as the regular birth control pill, but used while breastfeeding is fin....I'm sure that your doctor would probably recommend switching to the estrogen b/c pill when you are finished breasfeeding. Also on another note, I recently heard that the World Health Organization has announced that breastfeeding is 98% effective as birth control if you are nursing at least every 6 hours..it was cool to hear that but I definitely wouldn't rely on it no matter what their studies have said. Yep, at my 6 week post-partum check-up my doc basically asked if I wanted to use condoms or take a bc pill (the mini pill like everyone else said, progesterone only). The "brand" name I use is called errin and you do have to take it at the same time every day. Apparently t's less forgiving than regular bc pill.

Depends on the kind. There's the mini pill, also called POPs (progesterone only pills). I took them for birth control before we got prego because hormones in other pills were too strong, but I felt the best on those compared to everything else I tried.

there is a birth control pill u can take i cannot remember the name sorry, but it would be wise to ask your midwife, u have to take it at the same time each day, i breast fed but never took any birth control pills.

I'm in Australia so we have a mini-pill. Go get script from doc. Or get IUD or condoms!
