I have a 12 day old daughter and I got a stuffy nose with congestion. Is it ok to take cold medicine and breastfeed her?

It's okay to take Sudafed, that's on the approved list, but you do need to drink a LOT more water and may need some Mother's Milk Tea while you're feeling not so great...

I would double check with your OB/GYN. They have an approved list of medications you can take while breastfeeding.

It is tough but it may dry up your milk. I had the worst cold I'd had in many years when my son was born and his first week of life and I had to suffer through it. Now, I can take it now and then but I've got a good supply. It is safe, but any decongestant may reduce your milk supply so it really isn't recommended.
