Do you have to pump at night?

My milk supply seems lower now at night now that my baby is sleeping all the way through. Should I drag myself up in the middle of the night to pump? I also work 3 nights a week and sometimes don't get to pump for 5 or 6 hours, think that's often enough to cause a problem?

OMG Melissa count your blessings and stay in bed. Its not everyday we see a breastfed baby sleep through the night. Sweet dreams!

If bub is sleeping through the night you don't need to pump, but you should try and pump for every feed that you miss when you are away from your baby. I work at night as well and pump every two hours. I made the mistake of not pumping when I started work again and my milk supply went down and I had a heck of a time trying to get it back up again. I only work for about 5 hours a night but that still affected my supply.

I set my alarm to pump once through the night cause my 2 month old has been sleeping through for a while. I also work 3 nights (overnight) a week and if I don't pump once on my nights off I have ended up with REALLY bad mastitis twice. I think it probably just depends on your body and milk production...

you only need to pump when baby would be nursing, so if baby sleeps thru the night, you don't need to pump

yes if he isn't eating at night you will not produce at night.. If you are not BF at night then you are one of the lucky few and I would not get up to pump. Also this should not effect your supply during the day.
