Do you think posting pictures of you child nursing on myspace on your own page is bad or ok?

gosh I see more boobies every day of the week on the telly, I dont care if anyone sees me feed, because its just a baby eating. People should accept breastfeeding as perfectly natural and beautiful thing.

No one should be offended by looking at a baby eat, from a breast, that is what they were designed for-not to sell cars and burgers. -

I think it helps to see women nursing i never would have nursed without the support of my family and without the confidence that you can be proud of feeding your baby-no matter what other unsupportive idiots think.

i think it depends on what u can see. if people happen to c a nipple flash in public..tuff but i think posting an obvious nipple shot is the same as porn...guys have a hard enough time keeping their thoughts pure why make it more difficult. photoshop it and post it.

Of course it is fine! People need to see the image so it becomes a common image in our retarded society. Compared to the pictures of guns, drinking, and sexualized breasts that some of my own friends have for their main profile pics, nursing is quite innocuous. Since I participate in functions(family and generically social) while nursing, I am bound to be caught by the camera. Why should I go hide because I am feeding my baby? I post pictures of everyday life, nursing happens to be a huge part of it so I am going to share those images.
As for the oh what if kids will see- they should- nursing is not a sexual act it is the ideal way to feed a baby. It is not harmful to them at all. In fact they are better at understanding that it is nurturing a baby and they think nothing of unlike their brain dead parental units.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. Actually I believe that more women should post breastfeeding pictures up to show everyone what boobs are really for! I think more women would probably feel comfortable breastfeeding their baby if they were exposed to more pictures of breastfeeding, rather than all of the pictures of babies being formula fed with bottles.

I think it's great to show pictures of yourself nursing. We spend so much of our time with our babies doing it, it's a regular part of our lives, and something to share with people who want to know what our little ones are up to. I know when people ask me what she's up to, most often I say, "nursing, like always :)"

And as to the idea that perverts might get a hold of your pic and use if for the wrong purposes. Well, yes, it's possible. Unlikely but it could happen. And if it really concerns you keep it private. But it's just as likely that a foot fetishist would steal a picture of you standing on the beach in bare toes. There's all sorts of crazies out there, no need to spend all our time hiding from them.

breastfeeding is legal everywhere. and to those who look at you funny, don't you just want to say "take a picture, it will last longer!" hahaha! there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a picture while breastfeeding. I'd say a definite for their baby books!!

I think this is the most wonderful way to connect with your baby , is your choice to take the picture which I found them full of caring , love and a wonderful way women have the privilege to feed their babies

I have a few on myspace I don't see anything wrong with it although I have gotten some lewed comments from males before I just delete them and go on about my day. I am sure though if I posted some of my almost 3 year old I would turn some heads...but really she doesn't nurse that much so it's not a big part of her life anymore.

I personally do not agree with putting pictures of you nursing your child on to the internet. Anyone who wanted to, could download that picture of your child and there are plenty of perverted people out there. It is your own personal decision but I would be very careful with your choices. The picture you have up is not that bad actually so I say do what you please

There's nothing wrong with it at all! People only find it offensive because there's a baby attached. How many companys use breasts to sell their products and they aren't critisized they're rich. I think if people would start looking at breasts in the way they were intended, they wouldn't be able to sell half as much beer as they do. I'm proud that I am able to feed my children, I think it is a beautiful and special way to bond with my baby.

If your comfortable with it then it shouldnt matter what others think....I wouldnt personally put pictures of myself feeding purely from the fact i dont feel comfortable enough doing it ..... Theres lots of people with very inaproprate pictures on there facebook/myspace and no one says anything about those so dont see why people have a problem with breastfeeding pictures.

Quoting Stina:
.

:-)  My son and daughter see me nursing their baby sister all the time.  So often that both of them have been feeding baby dolls and stuffed animals, by holding them up to their chest.  Just yesterday, My daughter lifted her dress all the way up so she could put her dolly up to her nipple.  I love it.  They have toy bottles but I don't see them using them because they never see baby sister drinking brom a bottle any more (she began rejecting bottles a few weeks ago.)

Here's to raising a generation of kids who don't think twice about the natural way to feed their future babies.

I also love when I am out and about in public how little kids will sometimes come up to me because they want to see the baby.  Sometimes they ask what the baby is doing, other times they just want to see her because babies are fascinating to them.

When ever I get my daughter to feed her  my son will walk up and point and say "kody boobie juice" its sooo cute!

I think it's just fine and in fact very good. As so many others have said, the more people see breastfeeding the more they will accept it.

Yeah I agree that people need to be more accepting of it. I'll admit when I go out in public I find feeding rooms to feed my baby or I use a sling to cover up my bub, or now he's older and we're more co-ordinated just cover up with my shirt. I do this because I feel more comfortable, not that I mind people seeing my breasts. I care that they might not want to, just like I don't like seeing muffin tops!! For that same reason I don't post photos of it, I know you can't see anything but not all of my family want to see these photos and my work colleagues defenately do not. I don't have any objections to other people posting their pics, if people don't want to see them they can just not look...

I agree with most of all these other GREAT Moms! I think its up for your discretion... If you are Comfortable then go for it! I have a Slide Show of Pictures of when my Son was being born on my Myspace :) I think if someone doesn't like it then they dont have to look. What you are doing for your little one is perfectly Natural and to show the kind of Bond you 2 have is Beautiful.

I suppose it's personal preference. I only let my friends on FB see my pics...so I can control who sees what. But considering I don't flash that much skin at any time, I'm not taking pics of it, let alone posting them anywhere. Just keep it clean...

breastfeeding is clean!!

you don't even have to sterilise anything......fancy that!

People need to get over themselves! Breast feeding is the most natural thing a mother can do! If you feel comfortable about the photos you put up then that's all that matters. If people think they are offensive then they can choose not to look. I think they are beautiful and show the strong bond between you and your baby!

I had posted a picture of my baby holding a big plastic ball and the caption read NAKED (he was but the ball cover everything) all of a sudden I couldn't acess my pictures, it then said there was a problem but MySpace fixed it. Sure.

[deleted account]

I don't mind it because I breastfeed. I know that some people would be bothered by it. When I posted pictures of the day my baby was born, myspace sent me a message saying some were inappropriate. When I looked it was the picture of my baby on the scale being weighed. You couldn't even see her "private parts" so I was a little annoyed because I'm on myspace to share pictures with family that lives far away. Anyways, if you do post it they may take it off.

Well, it's not even that clear that it is a breast. I wouldn't worry about it.

[deleted account]

Not bad at all. Not something I personally would post on Myspace or Facebook. Though I have posted a pic of the first time I nursed my girls together on a message board before. Not sure why it's different to me, but it is. I don't have a problem seeing anyone else's pics though. Nothing offensive about it. :)

images of breastfeeding mothers and children should not be offensive.

its part of normal life isn't it???

breastfeeding is NORMAL.....societies that treat it as such have very little problems breastfeeding their babies.....on the otherhand, societies that hide breastfeeding away have problems breastfeeding, they wean early and view formula as part of everyday life.

you know your living in a culture that mostly favours formula as infant nutrition when this question even comes up. in societies where breastfeeding is normal they wouldn't even batter an eye lid.

we have breasts to feed our children, not just attract the opposite sex. breasts being used for their biological function should not be a big deal.

the whole conmmunity needs to support our breastfeeding mothers and children!!!

ill show yall the pic and tell me what you think about it.. All it is is my son eating thats it.. You can hardly tell its a boob.. I think its nature and the only ppl that can see it on my myspace page is friends and family and they all know I breastfeed all my children

I think its a personal preference thing. Me? I don't put pics of me nursing online b/c I know that not everyone who has access to those photos is equally comfortable seeing that. In person, people are able to look away or give me a little more space. Online, while I can set privacy settings to limit who can see my pics, it's not always easy for my stepdad or brother perhaps to skip past them when looking at the latest postings of the kids.

As far as other people using pics of themselves nursing for profile pics, I think it's a beautiful thing and have seen some very tasteful, even artistic photos around.
