My advice is dont. Try to stay with it til they can have a sippi cup because you will only have to wean them from that too. I kept nursing my daughter til she was ready for the cup and I gradually put milk in her cup and I never had a problem at all. She even was weaned nighttime with no fuss at all.

A month before I was to go back to work we gave Max a bottle a day instead of nursing. He took it like a champ. Dad gave him the bottles for the first week, and then I would just do it myself, and pump after. We used the Advent bottles. The nipple is almost just like the nipple of his nuk. Which I think helped. When I was at work, he was given about 2-3 bottles a day. Make sure that you use the right 'flow' for your babies age. And get the next step up as well. My baby is a really fast drinker, so we started him out at his age appropriate nipple, and had to switch right away because he would get angry that he wasn't getting enough milk fast enough.

I started my son on breastmilk in a bottle when he was very young (3 weeks) to get him used to it right from the beginning and he took it really well, he's now 11 weeks old and drinks formula from a bottle and is also breastfed. It all trial and error with the bottles too, it took me about 5 different bottles and over 100 dollars later to find one that suited him best,l some teats were too fast some too slow some not the shape he liked. I agree with getting someone else to feed her the bottle becuase if she can smell you shes not gonna wanna take and the bottle and just keep trying

Try using expressed breast milk in the bottle first and then gradually go onto the formula if possible. The taste will be familiar even though the delivery method is different.

Having someone familiar (daddy) offer the bottle when you are out of the house helped us. It was like my son had mommy radar so I had to get out of the house entirely and that way too I wasn't there to hear the protests! My husband handles that sort of thing with great calm so it better for us that way.

I had such a hard time getting my daughter to take a bottle - we found that offering it every single day helped. We also found that she responded better to a medium flow nipple (gerber classic ortho. nipple) rather than the slow one. I have hear some people have luck with the BreastFlow bottles and nipples - we did not though.
Good luck and stick with it - it will happen!

I was having a hard time with my then 7 mo old. I had tried everything! Then for whatever reason I giving it to him cold instead of warm and he downed it. I have no idea why it made such a difference? Good Luck! LISA

ask some one else to offer baby the bottle with you out of the room. wait till just befor a regular feed time when shes in a good mood and not to hungry or tired. my little boy protested at first but when he relised that there was food in the strange thing that was being offered to him he started to drink.
