yeah i sleep with a towel under my boobs or over them as I ruined loads of nighties. It happens till your milk sorts out the right amount to be made for baby. I still leak now and again but nothing like drowning my other half in bed when I first came out of hospital.

For the first 3 months I encountered terrible leaking, but a round of thrush caused the end of breastpads unless I was going out. At night I slept in just a night shirt and had a wetpad underneath because it was to the point where the sheets and matress would get soaked. Daddy hated it. By month four I leveled out. Best of luck!

I have the same problem what I do is take a cloth wet pad and lay it on top of the sheet the put a soft fleece blanket over the top and go to sleep if I leak all over the bed no big deal just change the blanket and wet pad wash with clothes and place a clean one on bed

Quoting Heather:
Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it might just be something you have to deal with. I've been breastfeeding for six months and my breasts still leak all the time. Only about 90% of women's bodies adjust - which is most women obviously. I, however, am in the 10% whose body is just going to keep leaking. Hopefully you will stop soon!
With my daughter, my body never adjusted either. I leaked all the time until I weaned her. Once I was out for lunch with my best friend and she asked me if my daughter had tried to nurse through my shirt or if I was leaking. My nursing pad had slipped out of place! They do make reusable nursing pads but those always soaked through for me so I was stuck buying the disposables, I only had to buy about one box a month so it wasn't too pricey but I feel your pain. With my son, I don't leak at all. Except maybe sometimes in the morning when he has that first feed.

ive been breastfeeding for ten months npow and i dont need to wear a bra at night any more, as my body is now producing what i need for my daughter. in the early months there are growth spurts and illnesses that affect how much they eat so ur body has to keep changing to addapt to your baby. there is hope just stick at it xxx

This sounds tacky but the pads they sell at the pet store for puppy's to house train on are great for leaking breasts at night. I would leak through breast pads and a towel, I got sick of washing sheets, towels, and bra's everyday! I started using these instead of the towel and it at least saved my sheets! As for the daytime try doubling up on nursing pads and wear a supportive bra. Good luck I regulated out at about 7 months but there are times where I am like a fire hydrant again...

Every woman is different... and I swear with each child it is different!! WIth my daughter, who is now 5.5 years... I could look at her and leak every where till she was around a year!! Drove me nuts... I got so tired of living in my bras and spent a fortune on lansinoh pads... this time around, my son... who is now 5 months, I went till about 3.5 months with leaking all the time, now I barely ever where pads. I keep my breast shells on me at work so that if I know I will not be able to pump on my usual every 2.5 hour schedule I can put those so I won't have any issues with leaks... thankfully I work with a bunchof awesome people though who will let me go whenever I need to....
Disposables are really best in my opinion, but at night I wore both. I put the disposables in stuck to my bra, and wore the reuseable ones touching my breasts... that way I rarely leaked all over the sheets...'
Good luck, hopefully it will get better for you soon!

If it offers any hope at all, I would leak everytime I fed my daughter and during the night. She is 7 months now and I only leak during the first feeding of the day. I dont have to wear a bra to bed anymore! Your body should adjust to your baby's needs eventually. Also it is better to have too much than not enough. Good luck!

I've been breastfeeding for 6 months now and I still leak. Sometimes are worse than others. If I am full and hear my baby cry it seems to trigger a let down. I wear nursing pads ALL the time. The washable ones just soaked through for me, so I had to wear the disposable kind.

Yep... I use the lansinoh breastpads because they are the most absorbent that I've found... but I still wake up in puddles for at least a couple of months. I wear nursing pads all day, every day for at least 4 months too... it does get better, it just takes a while. I would also consider cloth nursing pads, and sleep with a waterproof pad under you so you don't have to change your sheets every day.

I use to leak all the time, morning, noon and night. I was always full(this is at 4 months in). I went to my local health unit, they have a breastfeeding clinic, and talked to a nurse who specialized in bfing. It was descovered that I was making too much milk, and the nurse adviced me on how to reduce my milk flow. It's been about 2 weeks now and I rarely have to wear a breast pad. I don't know if this is what you are experiencing or if you just haven't regulated your flow yet.
Reusable pads work well. Expressing before bed help too. It takes time to regulate your flow, esspecially if you baby is still very young. If posible, consult with a la leche leage(hope I spelled it right) or breadtfeeding clinic near you for help and support (I swear by them). Good Luck !

I used to leak a lot also, but it does eventually even itself out. I highly reccomend the reusable nursing pads - a lot cheaper in the long run! I will still leak the odd time, but it is so few and far between that I don't even need to use breast pads anymore either.

Yes, I have the same problem. I have to express before I go to bed at night so that I don't over-fill through the night. For a while I was getting up through the night to express as well. It eventually eased for me. You can buy re-useable breast pads which are awesome. They're fabric and you just chuck them in the washing machine and use them again.
