Love the Medela freestyle. Hands free, battery operated and very light. It has two phase suction to mimick the way babies nurse. I got a good deal on ebay.

It depends on how often you will be pumping. I only had to pump to go out with my husband or to add breastmilk to cereal. I love my Avent Isis IQ. I also have a medela, but it's bulky for an ocassional pump. I've had it through 2 children and I did a lot of research before I bought it. Price wise it's a better deal too. But if you are going to be pumping a lot - like returning to work or another reason - I also recommend the Medela. They tend to keep your milk supply up better.

Yes, the Medela is the best..... I used it when I went back to work when Sarah was 3 mths and did it 3x a day while at work until she was 9mths. It was very efficient and fast. This allowed me to do it during my morning break, lunch and afternoon break with was more than enough for her while being at the sitter. I actually found it on Ebay, sanitized and bought all new accessories fairly cheap. Alot cheaper than buying the intire pump.

the medela on the go one. you can use batteries or outlet, great for those times you need a quick pump.

I recommend the Medela pump - if you can find a deal on the double breastpump it would save you time but the single electric works great too:)

I have Medela Lactina Select and I think it's excellent. They are expensive, though and kind of big, so if you need to carry it with you, it might not be so easy

The Madella Pump In Style is great! I am a working mom and I have used this pump at least 3 times a day for 6 months and love it.

I have the new Medela Freestyle. It is very small and I can pump and get ready in the morning at the same time and do other things around the house while I am pumping. I just put a big t-shirt on. I have been exclusively pumping since July.

Ameda purely yours - it's a dual and I love it. As mentioned in pp no milk comes into contact with pump itself so it's very sanitary. I actually bought the pump used on kijiji and then purchased a new hygeni kit (I think that's what they're called) which contained the flanges and bottles.

I have the Ameda Purely Yours. I like it because the milk has no contact with the mechanical parts of the pump, so I think it is more sanitary than the Medela, but I've heard good things about the Medela, and I'm interested in the new Medala that just came out that is "hands free"
the Purely Yours is a little less expensive than the PIS, and a little lighter if you have to carry it around alot. I think they are all a little noisy. It's just part of the beast. :)

I've had the Medela Pump in Style Advanced for almost a year with no problems... I used it several times a day for the first 3-4 months, then 1-2 times a day since then. I've also heard that the Avent Isis is well recommended. The noise doesn't bother me at all at home. At work it only bothered me when I had to pump in an office with thin walls (I could hear people using their staples on the other side, so I figured they could hear my pump.)
