I own a childrens and maternity consignment store in Washington State. We specialize in new products like cloth diapering supplies and locally made toys and clothes. We are moving and expanding the store and I want some ideas of moms must have baby products. I just ordered mobywraps and kidco baby food grinders. What are your fav baby products? (diaper covers, toys, carriers, skincare, etc) I appreciate your input-Kara

The First Years makes infant spoons with ergo handles- I love them! Comfy for me to hold and no metal end to poke in his eye. I love our Robeez and other similar style shoes- I wish I could find some in black for some outfits. I have a boy, but if I had a girl I'd buy those no slip hair bows. Maybe with the next baby!

Oh, I forgot to say...I hate to trash a product, but my LEAST favorite cloth diaper covers and all-in-ones have been Kushies, which a baby boutique near me carries. I often want to tell them to quit because many of us who shop there don't like the stuff, but we don't know if the owner would want to hear us or not... The covers are particularly bad.

1. Earth Mama Angel Baby bottom balm and baby wash are two of my FAVE baby skincare items. The bottom balm is safe to use with cloth dipes AND is a great 1st aid balm. (All earth mama angel baby products are AWESOME!)

2. My Moby wrap AND my Ergo are two things I couldn't live without.

3. Fuzzi Bunz and Knickernappies diapers. And I WANT to buy Disana tie nappy wraps and wool covers, but have a hard time finding places that carry them, so you may want to look into that! :) (http://www.disana.de)

4. Baby cubes. I prefer these to using ice cube trays for homemade baby food. And I buy them from a baby boutique type store here in Oregon. I LOVE them! (They have attached lids and are like little baby food containers! Also are free of all that crap that's not good - I forget all the letters...) ;)

5. leTop clothing. It's not an essential baby item, but every leTop outfit we've received as a gift we've LOVED! Oh! Also the Tea brand of clothing and Zutano. Love them all.

Good luck with your store!

The one thing that I can't get enough of are Babylegs. I think I have every pair available. There's a boutique downtown and everytime they get new ones I have to buy them. Also bows for little girls. I particularly like the ones w/ giant flowers - and everyone else just loves them too. I love my thirsties covers and maybe you could carry high quality prefolds? Snappis are nice too esp. when people lose them (they disappear like socks sometimes) they could just run to your store for more.  I use Lansinoh Lanolin for nip care and diaper rash care and it works wonders.  Good luck!

feeding tops, you know the ones wher it's like a singlet top and then the breast part unclips like a maternity bra, i love them, they make feeding in public so subtly, and people are less likely to abuse you for showing too much skin or booby (in my opinion if they dont wanna see it they shouldnt look, but you cant please every1).

Many of my favs are already on here (Ergo, Kidco baby food stuff, Melissa & Doug toys, Burts Bees, ) to add a few:

- Sophie The Giraffe teether

- Maya Wrap slings

- Pedipeds baby shoes

- Mother-ease (organic cotton & stay-dry) cloth diapers & covers

- my BreastFriend breastfeeding pillow

Oh, and I definitely agree with the poster who said the Kushies cloth diaper AIOs & covers are the worst.  I've yet to meet someone who liked them.

One thing I could not live w/o throughout my pregnancy were those sour hard candies and lollipops that help nausea. I was nauseous throughout my whole pregnancy and they worked great!

My favorite baby items so far are:

1. Amby Baby Hammock

2. Woombie (far better than any swaddling blanket out there in my opinion)

3. Wubbanub ducky(the only pacifier my BF baby will use- it's too cute)

4. BumGenius diapers

5. MilkBank Bottle System (keeps my breastmilk fresh in storage & the bottles work better than Dr.Brown's for my daughter's reflux)

I love my Moby wrap - we've been using it since we came home from the hospital - but I also now have a mei tai, which is great. Mine is homemade by my SIL, but Kozy and Babyhawk are popular brands. I also love my SIL's half-buckle-tai, which has bottom straps like a structured carrier and top straps like a mei tai - it's from twomommasdesigns.com

Ooh. Thought of a few more:

Lansinoh
Lanolin-based wool wash

I love, love, love my nursing pillow (mine is a jolly jumper brand), it saved my back!

I love my Kushies sleep blanket (http://www.kushies.com/Cataloque/catalog...), no more worrying if the blankets are going to stay on through the night.

a flexible ice cube tray would be great, easier to pop out the frozen cubes of food later.

My daughter is 13 months old and I still use my Boppy pillow every day!  I love it!  Also, I absolutely love the California Baby line of products.

Arwen reminded me - I love my cloth nursing pads. I don't know what brand they are, but they are a soft cotton (maybe even flannel) and I bought them at a local breastfeeding store that is no longer in business. I think maybe Lansinsoh made some cloth ones, too.

I also love Robees for new walkers!

Like everyone else, Boppy Pillows are awesome. =) And I know it's ordinary, but Johnson & Johnson shampoo was the only thing that got rid of her cradle cap. No fancy organic shampoo especially for cradle cap that costs $10 a bottle. J&J actually know what they're doing. Go figure. Their nursing pads are also wonderful. I am allergic to every nursing pad on the market save theirs. They do show a little, but it beats a rash any day.

I think my hands down very favorite thing for my daughter has been a small pair of ballet slippers. They were so perfect for learning to walk in the winter. Not all of her socks had the skids, and I could put regular socks on her, put on something that was basically a strap-on superflexable rubber sole, and she was good to go. And her feet would be nice and cozy. =) I have no idea where they came from, though.

I really like HoneyChunks diaper solution bits (they are at http://www.honeychunks.com/ I think).

I also love hemp inserts for pocket diapers.

I love my Kozy mei tai.

California Baby skincare products are the best!

I've been pretty happy with the New Native Carrier (pouch sling).

I've heard great things about the Becco.

I also have a GypsyMama wrap that I love.

I like the mesh feeders for babies starting out on foods - the original one is better than the mainstream on you can find at Target, IMHO.

Snappi's for prefolds - I don't like pins :-)

Maggie's PureLand Soap Nuts - not specifically a baby product, but I use it on all my laundry and it's great! No worries about skin allergies or irritation.

Ice cube trays for freeze portions of homemade food for baby - doesn't need to be the specific baby food ones, any cheap ones will do :-)

Haba toys are great, of course, as are Nova and Discovery, though pretty pricey. Maybe you could find a local momma who makes wooden toys?

Good luck with the new product lines! That's so awesome that you're expanding :-)

My absolute must-haves..

1.Cozy Cuddles nursing pillow, it's oversized and great for everyone, especially us "big-boned" gals.

2.Munchkin Ducky Bath Tub: it's a blow-up tub that quacks and it's wonderful for a baby that can sit... if the baby slips, he is protected on all sides.

3. Jolly Jumper & Evenflo Excersaucer: Must haves for an active baby (hours of entertainment!)

[deleted account]

Burt's Bees - Baby Bee diaper ointment and skin creme

Bebe Au Lait nursing canopy - I love this for nursing in public!

Piccolo baby carrier - I don't have one but I tried one out last week and it was great, so I'm thinking of buying one soon

If I think of anything else I'll let you know

Good luck!

I know this is a breastfeeding forum... but I absolutely LOVE those little take-along formula dispensors!  So far, haven't had to use one with my new son... but after I had to quit breastfeeding my older son... it was too great!
