I know its common, and i'm not really worried. My daughter's fever is running around 100.2. Gave her infant tylenol, and it wasn't gone 4 hrs later, so gave her another dose. Just wondering if there is anything else I can do without continuing to give her tylenol. Her first two sets of shots, she never got a fever, so not sure why she has one this go 'round, but wanna get rid of it. Poor baby just isn't feeling well at all.

My son was the exact same with his first shots, even the same temp! The fevers stopped after about 2 days, I had to just give him Tylenol & nurse lots!

My daughter always had a fever for the first 36-48 hours following her immunizations! Tylenol, diaper shirts and tempid baths always helped!

motrin should work much better to get the fever down and to help her to feel better. We are all different and some kids respond better to tylenol and some motrin.

It is also normal for babies to get fever after the third and fourth immunization shots. Try giving her baby's paracetamol before going for the immunization and that should keep away the fever or you can give her the paracetamol after instead of the tylenol.

My doc recommended a warm bath, then let them play in it until the water cools down. That way their body isn't trying to warm up, it's trying to cool down. If the fever doesn't go away in three days (third day after shots) see your doctor. Don't let them shake it off as 'shot fever' either, if you think it's wrong, push your case!

When my son would have a fever, I'd also strip him down to his diaper and turn on ceiling fan to cool him off a bit. One of my nursing instructors said to never give a cool bath as this could cause body to attempt to warm self up and increase fever. Hope your daughter is feeling better soon!
