gas relief suggestions needed

[deleted account] ( 4 moms have responded )

My baby is five weeks old and is having issues with gas. I have tried cutting out foods I eat (chocolate, dairy, and gasy veggies) but nothing seems to help right now. Mylacon does not seem to help the problem either. I need suggestions on other tactics. I am really starting to find myself getting frustrated with the screaming at times and need help!

I must also say gripe water is great. Gripe water has been a huge help with my little ones gas. I use the same as Rachel and it is a life saver at times. Take care.

Most important....take a deep breath. Your baby will pick up on your frustration and you have to try to stay calm. Have you talked to your pediatrician? My oldest had the same problem when she was nursing. The only thing that I found that helped is to lay her on her back and rub her belly. It took awhile, but it would calm her down so her gas pain would either pass or the bubble would go away. Good luck!
