With my first son I was left with 10kg extra after the birth, but lost it and 2 more by the time he was 7 months old. This while eating like a pig. I was constantly hungry and had chocolate everyday and went through peanut butter and nuts at an alarming speed. With my daughter I only had 3kg to lose and was sure it was going to be easy as pie, but instead of loosing I gained 2kg in the first 5 months and now at 11 months are still stuck with 2kg to go. I never was very hungry this time round and really eat very little. I've come to notice that the less sleep I get the harder I struggle with my weight.

Now my question is: Is it just harder to loose weight second time round or does the gender of your baby make a difference? I've heard women expecting boys gain more weight (which turned out to be true for me), but do they also loose it easier while breastfeeding?

You lose wieght more easily with your first child because your body is "shocked" by the wieght you gained and works harder to get it back to where it was, whereas by the end of your second pregnancy your body is used to it and now you have to do the work.

Sounds just like me. The belly weight is the worst. Just can't seem to get rid of it. Really didn't see this coming. Was sure by now I would fit back into my old cloths!

I am actually finding it more difficult to loose the weight and the "front butt" the second time around. I had a boy with my first and gained a whopping 50lbs! I was back down to almost pre-preg weight (I started at 175lbs then was back down to 180lbs) this time I had a girl and I only gained 26lbs but I am having a really hard time loosing all the weight. I am now 10 1/2 months pp too. My second baby was a pound bigger then my first (9lbs 7oz) so I was quite a lot bigger in the tummy this time and things were quite stretched out, so I am finding that everything from the neck down is really starting to droop southward towards the nether regions lol! I dont want to be skinny, thats not my goal (I like my giggly parts) but I dont want to look 6 months pregnant anymore. I cant even get into clothes I wore pp with my first and I gained 2 times the weight! Im still bf and its all still there!

I have two girls. I started my first pregnancy at 129 and now that my second is 17 months old I weigh 113. I have not had difficulty losing weight, and I don't work out or diet.

It's been a gradual loss.
