I gained approximately 38 pounds whiles pregnant. (this was my first pregnancy) and I have been successfully breastfeeding. I was moderately active before pregnancy and stayed so during. After I got the okay from my doc I started hitting the gym harder. I'm 2 and 1/2 months post partum and I've lost 27 of it. Is this pretty average? I'm doing my best to take care of my body and making sure to take my vitamins and eat a variety of healthy foods and consuming atleast 1600 -1900 calories a day (but i do have an aweful sweet tooth). I would love some tips on how other breastfeeding moms got back in shape, how long it took, how long you were breastfeeding, and what kind of work outs were done.

I have been gettin in shape to .It adverage and believe it or not u prob lost the weight just from breastfeeding I gained about the same and was back to my pre preggo weight in about 6 weeks post. Breastfeeding burns alot of calories a day and when u accompany it with excersise :) lets just say its great.Just be careful to watch your milk supply because sometimes it will drop from hard work outs. I work out pretty hard but I started out slow and worked up and kept a eye out on my supply .My daughter is 7 mo and she started solids but she doesnt get much solids I make sure her diet is made up of mostly breastmilk which keeps my supply up .Keep up the good work it will pay off more and more and it just makes u feel better:)

I gained about 28 lbs during my pregnancy. I was fortunate enough to stay home while I was pregnant so I continued doing workouts 3-4 times a week. (They were designed for pregnancy so nothing too hard). I got stuck with the last 10 lbs from about 3-4 months post partum. Then all of a sudden it started coming off so quickly that I was getting worried. I was and still am breastfeeding exclusively at least every 2-3 hours and usually at least once at night. My daughter is 7 months old and I'm 10 lbs *below* my prepregnancy weight. I have Comcast so I have exercise tv on demand. These two are my favorite workouts from there:

I also do the walking workouts by Leslie Sansone and the Biggest Loser Cardio Max by Bob Harper. You can probably google them. A note about the calories. Make sure you're eating enough. I ate about 1800 before I got pregnant (to maintain my weight). About 2000-2100 during pregnancy and now I have to eat 2300-2400 just to maintain my weight (so I don't lose anymore).
