. My son is definitely going through one and he is 8 weeks. today we suddenly started eating every 2 hours and we are tired constantly. I have heard that this happens at key developmental times as well as growing times. glad I found this post to prove that this is just another spurt.

Does sound like a growth spurt then. Keep nursing, and if she wants both sides keep giving both sides. Should only last a few days. Both my girls growth spurts usually lasted 2 days, but I know other mommys have babies whose growth spurts last a full week. Hang in there, and check back if it doesn't improve within a few days.

she seems to be fine other then just being extra cranky, no cold symptoms and the temp went down to mid 70's when it was up in 90's...she is also sleeping longer at a time then normal but will only sleep in her wrap during the day and wants to be moving. also up til now has been happy nursing one side but during the day has been wanting both and in the morning she use to wake every 2 hours and is now waking ever half hour

It certainly could be a growth spurt. Could also be a cold??? Is she running a temp? coughing? have a stuffy nose? How's the weather where you are? It's been very hot for us, and my baby has had a few days of really needing extra fluids because of how hot it is.

When do babies have growth spurts?
Common times for growth spurts are during the first few days at home and around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months and 9 months (more or less). Babies don't read calendars, however, so your baby may do things differently.

How long do growth spurts last?
Growth spurts usually last 2-3 days, but sometimes last a week or so.

The solution to a growth spurt is to get comfy, and nurse and nurse and nurse your baby. It may seem like she's not getting enough, but if you let her nurse as much as she wants/needs she will get enough and her extra nursing is telling your body to produce more milk. The more you let her nurse, the more milk you'll make. Growth spurts can be very tiresome for a nursing momma. Drink plenty of fluids and get as much rest as you can.
