My baby starts grunting and scrunching up his face when he's feeding. He also does it when he's not feeding. Is it gas? I've tried gas drops and he still does it. He seems miserable. I've even started keeping him upright after eating for 15-20 minutes. What else can I try? He's also spitting up a lot lately...what's up with that?

Gavin is 6 wks and now he's on Prevacid and spitting up much less. He's also not grunting so often, just every once in a while.

I agree with Crystal - try reducing or cutting out the dairy in your own diet for a week, see if his symptoms improve. Do stop using the gas drops, though; unless your doctor has recommended them.

Maybe your baby has some stomach issues like gas, reflux or stomach bug. You should try Babies Magic Tea for your fussy baby. It helps with their tummy related issues and sleep deprivation.

My son who is breastfed grunted a lot too when he was first born up until about 3 months he grunted all day people thought he was trying to have a BM but he wasn't it was just a noise he did :) But he also spit up a lot. He is 6 months now and doesn't barely ever spit up anymore as they get older and more developed this will pass. Some babies esophagus isn't fully developed yet so they spit up more but as long as your baby is gaining weight properly I wouldn't worry about it but if he is seeming really uncomfortable, not having weight gain and having projectile vomit he may have reflux and I would have your ped check baby out. Good luck!

my daughter does that too, and she's always spit up a lot. I don't overproduce so I don't think she's getting too full. how old is your baby? Cady has started getting REALLY mad whilst eating, and i always have to stop and burp her really good but even then sometimes she gets so fussy we have to give up and try later
