I've always had fine hair but after my pregnancy, I've noticed more than usual hair in my brush & bath drain. I have virgin hair & don't blowdry it, so there's no damage. It feels alot finer as well. I use a biotin shampoo & am thinking about getting a perm for more texture. Any suggestions? Please help!!

Yep happened to me too. It usually lasts for the first 6 months postpartum. Your hair is normally split up in 3 different stages - some will be growing, some will be falling out, and some will be dorment, but when your pregnant your hormones take over and they all go into the growing stage. Therefore after you have your baby and your hormones are getting back to normal you lose all that hair you should have lost before.

My son is 4 months old and I am going through the same thing. It feels like I am losing all my hair but the dr says it will be temporary. Once the hormones settle down it quits. If you are not against it using a semi permanat hair dye will plump the hair follicles temporarily.

I had the same problem. It started at about 3 months after I had my son and ended just last month. I have real fine hair as well, and during pregnancy and even when the extra hair was falling out I didn't like the texture of my hair. But now its completely back to normal.

My suggestion would be, get some shampoo and conditioner (not 2 in 1) for damaged hair. And get your hair layered, even if its long. I cut my long hair to just above shoulders with a layered shaggy look and I love it. I did lose quite a bit of hair but with the new hair growing in the layer cut helps hide some of it. The sham/cond for damaged hair did wonders in keeping my hair nice and soft during the process. The brand I use is Aussie, but you can also use Pantene which works really well also.

Its totally normal and can happen anytime after birth. For me it was around the 3rd month postpartum with both of my kids and lasted about 4 months or so. Its because when you are pregnant all the hair that you would have lost over the 9 months didnt fall out (because of hormones and such) but once you deliver and hormones settle back to a more "normal" range your hair that you should have lost will begin to fall out, that is why it looks like there is so much hair. But you wont go bald or anything (even though it seems like you will)
