Ive noticed that my 11 month old has a white spot on her finger nails one on each of her hands and I don't remember her crying from hurting it..., have anyone notice this on your Childs fingernails and might know the cause of it?

My little guy has one but I assume it's from getting it hit when playing with a drawer or something. His nails aren't as strong as ours, so it may not have even hurt. But you should have a one-year check-up coming up soon, so you could bring it up with your doctor.

I used to get those white spots on my nails too. My mom always told me it was a zinc deficiency and would make me start taking a zinc vitamin. Then they'd go away. If I didn't keep taking my vitamins they'd come back.

If you're breastfeeding and you take the vitamin it will pass through the milk to your little one. Otherwise you might need to look for drops like Denikka suggested.

Sometimes white on the nails means you need more calcium, if your still worried talk to your community nurse or doctor. If it is lack of Calcium or as Denikka suggested zinc she isnt in any pain. Good luck :0)

If it's actually in the nail, it can be a zinc deficiency. I have white spots on my nails and it took years and multiple different drs and specialists to figure out what it was.
It's not a huge deal, they don't hurt or anything. Maybe try a multi or zinc vitamin if you're breastfeeding or maybe try some drops or something else if you're formula feeding. If she's on solids, you can always incorporate foods high in zinc too. Good luck :)
