HELP - restless baby!!!!!

They have a swaddled called Houdini woombie- google it- works wonders for baby who r restless pediatrician said is fine to use

My daughter had the same problem bought a Houdini woombie at diapers.com and he sleeps much better Pediatrician said they are fine -swaddling him didn't work because he could work his arms out he actually loves going into woombie

i co-sleep and swaddle..and since birth my son has managed to unwrap himself.
starting solids early wont help with sleep, asnt isnt necessary as your milk supplies all the nurtrition needed. my son has always been a big eater as well.
many night i found myself sitting on the loung with my son settling him while i watch tv.
she will get past it. hang in there...you are doing a great job!

Yay, I'm so glad I'm not the only one with a restless baby!!! My baby girl is 3 months and is a very happy breastfed baby, but squirms and wriggles 80% of the time, so much so that she wakes herself up. I feel your pain! I've tried swaddling and she does sleep better, but she eventually unwraps herself. I've even joked and said she needs a strain jacket, because as long as she's held down she sleeps great. Do you co-sleep with your baby Amanda?

My son was a very restless baby at that age (he's now 9 months). A lot of it was a result of gas, so I cut out eating certain foods that I determined were causing it. That helped a lot. But, he still has some nights like that, typically when he is going through a growth spurt, a new tooth is working it's way out, etc but usually he sleeps well (I still nurse him at night which is very normal). I would hold off on the cereal until at least 6 months. My son has never had cereal and is only now starting to show some interest in solids (and he is a big boy).

How about swaddling your restless baby. My kiddo is a much calmer sleeper when swaddled. Just an idea. Not sure about the rice cereal. Haven't had our 4 month appt yet so don't know what my doc suggests re adding cereal and solids. Good luck with your restless baby. Lisa.

When my daughter hit 4 months I started her on rice cereal... once a day and then at 5 months to twice a day. My daughter will sometimes move a lot as well (she is 9 months) and still I find I can't sleep when I hear my restless baby. She's in the same room as us, sometimes in the same bed, so it's difficult.

However, for a while I had to sleep on the couch just to get some sleep. This actually was better for both of us because believe me, you will definitely hear your child cry whether or not your in the same room.

My daughter still does not sleep through the night so I'm not sure if eating has to do with sleeping but hopefully something will work for you so you can get some sleep!
