I'm wanting to wean my nearly 13 mos old. But I'm also not sure how committed I am to this either. My eldest is 2.5 yrs and I had to wean her at 13 mos because of her and I being on medication for fighting bronchitis.
I did not realize at the time that my cough drops dried up my milk so weaning was easier than I think this is going to be on my body. I currently nurse her to sleep(1-2 naps & bedtime) once in a while she will insist on a midday feeding, which I do. I figure the way she latches on that she was not getting what she needed from the solids.
The reason I want to wean is my weight is getting out of control and I feel unhealthy. I've heard that if you lose more than a lb a wk that the toxins will get into your milk and can make your baby sick, which is the last thing I want to do.
Is there a mom out there that understands and knows how to do this gently for my body so I don't get engorged, plugged ducts, or stress the baby out?? Please be gentle in your responses. Thank you.
