he is having cereal once a day, and he breastfeeds most of the day!!!

if you feed on demand there are no milk supply issues. He should only get cereal once a day at this age

Did you supplement with formula for a while? if yes, that is a sign of early weaning because of formula in the bottle that is easier than breast

Then it doesn't sound like you have a supply problem as evidenced by diaper count, which is great!
I'd work on getting him to nurse. Check out the links I provided!

Oh wow! That's so scary! I'm so glad that everyone is OK!
The best way to produce more milk is to nurse! How are diapers? If your baby is getting enough diapers (4-5 at this age) then you don't have a supply problem.
But, you can take fenugreek, mother's milk tea, blessed thistle..

Hmm..Couple more thoughts..
-Do you nurse before or after solids?
-How often is he getting solids?
Remember, your breastmilk is to be the main source of nutrition right now! With the more info you gave, I think you're right that he might be preferring solids. If that's the case, I would cut back on solids:
Here is some info on nursing strikes:

Good luck!

Emily, keep breastfeeding it does get easier, don't give in to a bottle its supply n demand at this age so persevere with it ok, mine is 6 months today so his alot older than yours lol The more you feed the more milk comes that's what i did in the first 2- 3months. hope it gets better for you keep trying :)

not very often only if i have tried both breasts and his still screaming, he has food which might have something to do with it. he loves his food now, he seems interested in whats going on around him rather than breastfeeding. He very rarely gets a bottle lol :) thanks for replying

How often do you give the bottle? My first thought is that he's used to the bottle because the bottle is easier..
