HELP! What are good ways to get back in shape after having a baby? I do not have the money to spend on a gym membership. What are some good FREE ways of getting my pre-baby body back?

Oh yeah, there are some great JIllian Michaels workout DVD's that are $10 and are GREAT!

I squeeze exercise in whenever I can. I listen to music while I clean and dance around the house. I also have my baby in the carrier and wear her while I clean. She's now 21 lbs. so that's a workout. When I fold laundry I march, do side steps, legs curls, kicks, bring my knees up, etc. I have a walking workout that I like so I basically do those moves to music while I fold laundry. I figure it's better then sitting or standing still while folding. I also try to minimize sweets, I don't drink pop, I drink water all day and eat as healthy as I can. I have cable that has OnDemand programs. They have Exercise TV OnDemand so I can turn on a workout whenever I want. I think that Exercise TV also has free workouts on their website. I've also bought some walking workouts from Target that are around $10.

Walking with the baby (either in a stroller or carrier), since the extra weight = extra calories burned. Public libraries that have videos often have exercise videos that you can check out, and that way you can return it and get a different one if you don't like it, or just get bored. A lot of basic exercises can be done in a small area in your house--squats, lunges, push-ups, sit-ups, etc. I second Louise's idea with the cans--start with something small, like soup, and work your way up to big cans like pineapple and spaghetti sauce. You can often find used weights for cheap at thrift stores, once you want heavier weights.

Walking. I walked 1 hour sometimes more every day when baby slept at lunch time. I lost 4 stone :) ( I eat far too much when I am pregnant lol)
Good luck

Exercise around the house with cans of food for weights and broom handles for resistant exercises. Believe me when your child is toddling you will not sit down all day and wont have time to eat the weight will fall off!

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

My doctor told me breastfeeding helps to lose baby weight because it burns extra calories faster and i guess what she said was true . i breastfeed my 3 month old son exclusively ,i never exercise or walk after i had my baby instead i drink like 4 to 5 litters of water excluding other fluids like milk and juice and i lost 30 LB with in 3 month i weighted 150 LB the next day i had my son. drinking a lot of water helps to cleanse our system also when we drink plenty of water , our body learns to get ride of the extra amount fluid that is inside. i am happy i have 10 more to go to back to my pre- baby body.if you breastfeeding and drinking plenty of waters, and exercise , you can get back to your previous shape with in very short period of time. Good LUCK!

Running! I'm a runner and I love it because it's almost free (the only expense you'd need is to get fitted for shoes)
