I let my son nurse, and then pump about an hour later or so... then he nurses again about an hour after that.... it has kept mine up, and made it so I have a alittle extra onhand if I am not home for whatever reason...

The cluster feedings work well...but your body will realize that when your baby eats, then it will produce the milk. For me, my baby sleeps 10-12 hours at night, and now that she's done that for a while, my body doesn't really make that much milk overnight...but i can tell in the middle of the day when she usually eats 3-4 hours, that it's time for her to eat, because my body makes it to her schedule! Just do what your baby needs, and your body will follow!

I would recommend cluster feeding (nursing every hour for like 4-5 hours straight) from like 4-9pm each night as an example. Nursing lots will increase your supply better than anything else within a few days.

Hi Jamie, there is a natural herb you can take called FENUGREEK. You can get it at Whole Foods or any health food store. I have it in a tea form called Mother's Milk and its not too bad. The other thing you can do is drink a beer after you nurse. I know that sounds wierd, but my pediatrician and obgyn said this works. Just make sure you do it AFTER you nurse. Also, the darker the beer the better. Good luck!

Just remember it is supply and demand. You will produce as much milk as your baby needs. Just because you may feel empty there will always be some milk in there.

Your milk in the evening is actually smaller in quanitity, but it's more fatty and filling. It's really normal for them to cluster feed in the evening, and to feel more "empty" at this point is really normal, and not a problem.

What I did with both of mine is just let them eat more often and it increased my supply. Or you can pump every two hours or so if your baby isn't hungry.
