My 5 week old wakes up every 2 hours like clockwork to nurse. How do i stretch his feeding out? I am wanting him to sleep longer at night. He even wakes during the day. His routine is nurse, sleep for 2 hours, then wake to nurse again. This is how it goes all day.

Yep, normal. If you're comfortable co-sleeping that can help you get more sleep. Otherwise, accept any help family/friends give you and sleep when baby sleeps. It will get easier soon!

Hi Amy, my son is 6 weeks & has nights where he does the same but can stretch to almost 5hours. But as the others have said this is completely normal, will hopefully get better as he gets older & also depends on the baby. How is your supply, do you think he is getting enough or perhaps is he nursing for comfort say from an icky belly from either wind or reflux? I also make night feeds boring, have minimal lighting, I do not interact or make eye contact. I don't think there's really anything you can do if you've ruled out supply or reflux issues, but wait & hope he gets better with age. Good luck!

That's a very normal schedule for a 5 week old baby. The best thing you can do is just continue to feed on demand and wait patiently till your baby is ready to go longer periods of time on his own.
