how do i wean my 12 month old baby?

i have been trying for the last 3 months to wean my 12 month old. i have bought every bottle on the market and with it every teat type aswell. tried all the different formulas aswell! but to no avail. he now has teeth and it biting my nipple everytime he finishes or when he falls asleep after every feed. i have also tried to put ginger and garlic on my nipples but it doesnt seem to bother him. so when i refuse to give it to him, he will cry until he goes blue and wont stop until i put him on it. i am stressed and sore, but then when i dont give it to him he stresses out so i have no choice but to give it to him.

if anyone has any tricks or advise please let me know.

Why are you torturing your baby that way? Try removing him before he bites. Or when he does bite, tell him 'no biting' and take him off.



I do know what it feels like to be bit by a sleeping baby.. or toddler, actually. You want to scream, but don't want him to wake up... When my son has fallen asleep (or I think he has) I gently work my finger into his mouth to sneak my nipple (and my finger) out. Sometimes it takes several tries before he is actually asleep. Other times he starts to clamp down. It's definitely less painful on my finger, but still hurts.



Hopefully someone else will have better advice for the biting issue.



If you still want to wean, then I really don't have any advice. My girls were on a schedule and they were easy to wean. My son....? I don't even want to think about it. :)
