I am pregnant with my first child, and was trying to figure out how much bigger my breast were going to get. I want to buy nursing bras before I go into the hospital but I dont know what size I will be. Can anyone give me any advice? I really appreciate it. Thank You.

I went from a 36 B in my normal bra size and then after my milk came in (about 4 days after the baby was born) I am wearing a 38 D. I however did not have the typical breast increasing you hear about during actual pregnancy, it all happened AFTER I gave birth. I would suggest only buying 1 bra for now until maybe after your milk comes in and a few days later to let it stabalize a bit. My breast were absolutely huge for a few days when my milk came in and reduced a bit after that. Also, I have a few nursing tank tops (from Walmart) that I love to sleep in...they may be more comfortable to grow into until you figure out how big your breasts will be!

I never did like how the nursing bras fit me. Instead I bought three bras that are made with the straps that un-snap (to make it have a cross over in the back). They were much more comfortable for me and gave better coverage. The only down side is that the straps are not attached once unhooked and can be lost down my back.

I only bought one size larger- most are built with enough room to expand a little more to. I went from C to D.

I went up a cup size while i was pregnant, and then while i was at the hospital, my milk came in a lot sooner than some, i was really the same size cup, just a bigger width. I'd just wait and see how it all works out. The tank idea is a good one, and my advice is to let your boobs breath as long and as often as possible, it will help with the engorging once your milk does come in.

I would agree with the others, it really depends on you. I would suggest getting a sleeping nursing bra as they are much more stretchy and will stretch for the first while to accomodate your breasts till you can go and get a nursing bra. It takes about 2 weeks till your milk comes in and milk production starts to settle down and you will then know what size you will be (at least for a while) For me I was a 32 DD and I went to a 32 G but now my lo is 4 months and I am outgrowing my nursing bras again and am sure that I might even be an H now! So you just never really know until you get your milk and see how big they get, they always seem to be changing. lol!

Definitely wait till the last trimester. And then get one that is good and stretchy. With me, I found my boobs did get much larger when my milk came in. I felt like I was smuggling melons under my gown. This is somthing that varies from woman to woman and with each pregnancy.

What I do is make sure to have a couple stretchy nursing bra's going into the hospital. Then after my milk supply seems to have leveled out, I get a few more bra's. By about 4 months, I have found that I'm back to my pregnancy size.

I was told that you can buy nursing bras in your last trimester cause your boobs won't get any bigger, they will just get fuller when your milk comes in. thats what i did and the bra fit perfectly!! you can also go to a maternity store and they will also give you some advice. good luck!

When I was pregnant, my breasts got bigger of course, but then when I started nursing, I would get gigantic. Now don't get me wrong, when my daughter nursed, she was a very quick eater and drained both sides completely at every nursing, so then I was about what I normally was. I just used sports bras because of the variance between sizes. Yes, once it was time for her to nurse again, I was big and full. So, do whatever works for you! I never messed around with the nursing bras because they are very expensive, but hopefully something works out!

I went from a 34DD to a 36E and I've heard they stay pretty much this size until you stop breastfeeding.

I started off as a 34b, during pregnancy i went to a 36b and then a 38b, i was measured for a nursing bra at 37weeks (once the head is engaged so your back measurement slims back down) and i measured 34d but she advised me to buy 34dd to take into account when my milk would come in. The 34dd's were fine for a few weeks but once the engorged glamour model look had died down i went down to a 34c which has stayed the same for around 4months now. The main thing is to regularly get fitted thoughout pregnancy and early nursing.

It is variable for everyone. The sleeping bra's are comfortable initially. Nursing bra's may be costly, but once you find one that is comfortable and easy to manage; it is usually worth the investment but I would usually wait a few weeks until your milk supply is established. I wouldn't buy too many becasue sizing seems to fluctuate.

I'm a B normally, go up to a C while pregnant, up to an E until about 9 months or so and then really really gradually go back down to a C with an older baby (my second is 11 months).

I went from 32E to 32G. Your back size will change when babies head engages so dont buy them before 37 weeks! Perhaps you could buy a couple of sleeping bras at first as these tend to be more stretchy and then you can buy the others once baby is here?

This is different for everyone. I got bigger when I wasnpregnant and right after my milk came in but once my milk supply got evened out I'm the same. I would recommend buying a few different and only use the one that works but the best for this situation is buying nursing tanktops till after your milk comes in. They are the best ever and they also keep you from exposing your post partum belly that we can tend to be sensitive about. You can purchase them at target in the bra section not the maternity just ask if you can't fins them and you can buy several places online and eBay. Nursing tanks also help with keeping milk ducts from being clogged that can sometimes happen with tight underwires.

I went up one cup size but that's not alway's the case so the best advise I have is to check out your hospital gift shop. Some of them sell nursing bra's. If they do purchase a sleeping bra to start off with and then before you leave the hospital get sized. Sleeping bra's are wonderful little inventions that allow you to sleep comfortably and still wear a nursing pad so you don't leak all over the bed so you'll probably want one anyway. Otherwise go to a thrift store and purchase a bra one size to big. Nursing bra's are so expensive, as much as you want to be prepared you might want to hold off till you know for sure how it will effect you.
