My 4 month old is finally sleeping threw the night without getting up to nurse. My husband got him , when he got up at 2am . I made the mastakes of letting my little one nurse. Now like clock work, my son is waking up @ 2 am or so to nurse. I have tried just rocking him back to sleep., but for some reason he is not having it. He cries and acts like he his hungry and will not go back to sleep unless he nurses. What can I do to get my LO back the sleeping threw the night without nursing?

I would suggest to just carry on and feed him if he gets up at night. Making your little one sleep through the night when he is not ready for it will not only harm your milk supply but can also result in an early return of your periods which has it's own set of big problems. Menses can change the taste of your milk resulting in your son turning away from your breast and also decrease your supply. If you plan to BF him for a long time then accepting and adjusting to the odd night feed will surely not be a problem, believe me. Hang in there and all the best..

He may be going through a growth spurt where he needs the extra night nursing. I know with my last child she didn't wind up sleeping through the night for good until she was over 6 months. Until then she went through phases of sleeping through the night and then waking up at night when she hit a growth spurt.

Good Luck!
