I've been breast feeding more just on boobs at this point. But recently my fiancee bought me a breast pump which helps in so many ways. But sometimes I produce alot and other times not at much. and my milk only comes when my daughter is hungry. I would like to be able to store the milk so I dont always have to be around. And so im not the only one feeding her. Any advice?

Oh and I found the best way to produce more milk is actual nursing. There is nothing like the sucking of a baby. Also, I make sure most times, unless I am totally engorged, I need to be in a quiet room, often w/soft music and I think of my kids nursing... the milk lets down every time.

Breastfeed the baby first. The first side is dinner, then offer the other side, this is dessert and then pump both after for the leftovers. This will get you some milk and then stimulate more production. This is what a lactation consultant told me and it's worked well. Then also, at 21 days w/my daughter we introduced the bottle with breast milk. She's good about taking it, but I think the key this time is not letting up. We give her a bottle every day, at least once in the day. Then I pump during that time I give the bottle. So I never really miss a feeding. She's nursing all day and some in the night and then that one or two feedings we do with the bottle, I pump. With my son we introduced the bottle at 21 days too, but after a week we let up for about a week. When we tried to give him a bottle again he flat out refused. So we never were able to get him to take one. So we learned, be consistent and again, pump when you give that bottle feeding.

I was told by my lactation consultant to take a fenugreek supplement. Also, she said to pump after feeding the baby to make sure that u are empty. that way ur breasts can fill up again. Your body works on supply and demand. If the baby (or breast pump) is demanding it ( emptying ur breasts) then your body will supply you with more. Your breasts are never truly empty either. You can search for soem relaxation techniques too to help with let down. try looking at at picture of your daughter before pumping. As unappealing as it may sound too, nipple stimulation can help with let down. Hope this helps, let me know if you want any more information, I called my lactation consultant multiple times a day sometimes so i have a wealth of info.

In order to pump and still feed your daughter while you are around and save for when you are not you have to pump about an hour, an hour and a half before you feed the baby, that way you have enough milk to feed during feeding time (the boob time). This always worked for me. Try it and let me know. Good luck!
