What is the difference between a steam humidifier and a mist humidifier? Which is better?

If you get one, go with a cool mist humidifier or vaporizor. The important bit is that it is cool, baby can't get burned.

Steam gets the water hot, therefore the unit will get hot. A mist one doesn't use heat. I don't know if one is better than the other, but I think the mist one is safer since it doesn't get hot.
