I am a police officer and am going back to work in two weeks. I am still breastfeeding but am unsure of how to handle pumping and engorgement issues while at work. I will be wearing a bulletproof vest and therefore there will be pressure on my breasts. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you I will check with them. Most of the women I work with stopped once they came back to work.

OMG! I wish I could remember the specifics, but we had a mom in our La Leche League group who was a police officer and I'm pretty sure they had her on light duty while she was nursing because 1) her bulletproof vest didn't fit her new curvy figure and 2) the pressure of the vest could cause plugged ducts/mastitis. You should ask co-workers if they've heard of any other women in your department doing this--if not see if your local LLL Leader can help you find more information. www.llli.org will help you find your La Leche League Leader. Good luck!
