But it's looking like my son is wanting to. He's cutting out his feedings unless he's feeling unwell. He's eating so much solid food now and he enjoys it so much. When he's full he seems to rather just cuddle against my chest rather than nurse. The loss of BFing literally makes me want to cry. Like a bond being broken that I'm not ready to give up. Has anyone else gone through something similar? How did you handle it?

He's 13 months now. I have also recently gone back to work (not that I wanted to do that either!) so I'm hoping that it's just a nursing strike.

My Daughter is 10 months and still mainly nurses. However, I know others who are like you and dont want to ween early... TOTALLY UNDERSTAND! What I would do, since he is still do young is maybe stick with 3 small feedings a day... Morning noon and night... OR nurse at nap time... Nursing is not only just for food. Its a bonding moment and a comforting thing as well... Make it happy time... :) If your not ready to ween then he probably isnt 100% ready either. You will know when you are both ready... But if he wont nurse then maybe pump and use a sippy/bottle so he still gets the nutrition and your milk supply wont get low for the times he wants to nurse :)

My son self-weaned at about 7 months. He was just laid back as a baby (and still is at almostr 6 years old). Some kiddos just don't seem to care one way or abother as long as they are fed. I would keep offering, it could just be a phase?

How old is your son? There are certain ages where babies/toddlers seem less interested in nursing but then will pick it up again a bit later. For example, my daughter was really not into nursing around 10 months, but she got really keen again around her 1st birthday and is still going strong at 16 months.
