Have you tried different positions to hold him? Sometimes that makes a huge difference. Football hold, cradle, cross-cradle, lying down... One gal in one of these forums said her child nursed best when not belly-facing-mommy, which is unusual, but if it works it's great. So maybe mess with other positions, and perhaps even start with a little bit of a bottle of expressed milk if he's taking it and then transition to the breast so it's less urgent that he latch correctly quickly.

Another thought...When he was nursing for 2 days, did you give him bottles at all?

Mine two i tried for 3 weeks he lost so much weiht and he gets super mad when i trie and breast feed him. If u want to put the time into pumping it will help immensley . Trie not to eel upset about giving him a bottle. I cried the first time i pumped and gave my son a bottle but hes so happy and content now . Good luck
