My son is 5 months old, and still breastfeeding. Recently, while in the shower, i felt a lump in my left breast. It felt quite hard, and looked inflamed on my skin. It aches once in a while..should i be worried? Will it ever go away?

Sounds like a cloggest duct....especially if it is more apparent before you feed. I have gotten a few. I used warm compresses in the shower and also before I nursed. Also try to offer that side first each time until it goes away that way you get a really good feeding on that side. That is what worked for me! Good.Luck...

Chances are it's nothing to worry about but you should go to your doctor and get it checked out just to make sure.

Sounds like a clogged duct. Use warm compresses before feeding and feed on that breast first every time until it goes away. After the feeding, use a cold compress to stop the milk from producing there. If it won't go away or you get a fever, go see your doctor and ask about mastitis. While clogged ducts can come and go, sometimes if they aren't relieved quickly enough, you can get an infection called mastitis. Also, you can try pumping after the feeding before you put your cold compress on and try not to wear any tight clothing for a few days.
