It means nothing for your milk at all :) Your milk should be totally unaffected! I got my period back every month only 8 weeks after having my daughter and i've been breastfeeding for 15 months :)

It may have come back because she is feeding less often and your body has regulated :)

Well done for breastfeeding for so long! :D Keep up the good work lol

You can get preganant without having your first period after having your baby, it doesn't take having your period to again to get pregnant again, it just means your body is adjusting again

You will be fine! I got my period after 6 months, and only just weaned my daughter at 3 years! It just means that at 11 months your baby has probably supplemented some Bfing with solid food, therefor your milk supply has changed. It's very normal....you will not dry up :o)

It may affect your supply or the taste of your milk during your period. It is important to stay hydrated during this time. My period also came back at 11 months and it didn't affect my nursing relationship at all, but I have a friend whose son spontaneously weaned from the change in taste.

I had mine every month after having my boys. Nursing didn't take it away at all...would've been nice if it had. In fact, I bled more during nursing than after the boys were done! Then again, I am not normal in any sense of the word. lol! I had my periods on schedule, got pregnant again (through forceful contact by my then-husband) 6 months after the second son's birth, and bled like crazy for more than 6 weeks after all three's births. I am expecting a girl soon and hope it's different this time. Plus, I've had problems with breastfeeding regardless.

I'm a CLC. The only thing it may mean is a slight dip in milk supply while you're menstruating and it may change the milk flavor a bit while you're menstruating too, so baby may strike a little bit, but nothing to freak out about. With my first baby it came back at 2 months and with my second (she's almost 8 months), I just had some spotting last month, so we'll see.

it shouldn't make any difference. I got my period back when my daughter was 3 months old, and continued to BF until she was 17 months old. She was exclusively BF until six months, when she started on solids, and obviously I had enough (more than enough even) to give her the nourishment she needed until then. And even after she started on solids, she was still primarily breast fed for a considerable amount of time afterwards until the solids took over as her primary food intake. But even then, she continued breast feeding until 17 months and probably only stopped then because I was pregnant again. I don't think it should affect your supply at all, and even if it does by 11 months your baby will be getting most of his/her nourishment from food anyway so won't be needing as many breast feeds any more.

I started my period when my daughter was 8 months and I am still breastfeeding her at 17 months. There are possibilities that you may not produce as much but then you baby doesn't need as much of your milk at this point, they rely more on solid food. So just don't worry yourself and everything will be fine.

I got mine back when my son was 8 months old. We just quit nursing a week ago. He is 2 years old. I think it is totally awesome that you have continued to breastfeed for as long as you have! Keep it up! ^_^

It means nothing to your milk supply as far as I know. I got mine back at 8 months in and we are still going strong (my daughter is 14 months).

Your milk supply will be just fine. I started my period about 8 to 12 weeks after both of my children were born and my supply was just fine, no worries. Now you can nurse, get pregnant again, and you have your period back!

I just started my period back up after a year of not having it because my body was not ready to have it yet after having my son and I have not noticed any difference..except he eats more now than he use to..but that is because he is going through changes too and he uses breastfeeding as not only a food source but a comfort source too.

I got my period like 28 days after I gave birth but nursed until 13 months. Your period shouldn't affect your supply but at around 10-11 month my supply decreased because it wasn't in high demand anymore.

After my period started I noticed a slight decrease in supply & strength of let-down. I discovered it was cyclical & related to a certain time during my cycle. The rest of the time it was "normal". Some women don't notice any difference others notice a greater difference.

Mine came back around 10 months and I do believe it changes your milk. I don't think it affects your supply much, just the taste of your milk but it will likely not affect how well your baby nurses. Don't worry and just keep on nursing. Things will happen as they are meant to. Keep up the good work, I nursed my daughter until she was 17 months, when I was 3 months pregnant with baby #2. :)

I didn't notice any different. My period returned at 11 months. My daughter and I are happily nursing numerous times a day and night and she's 2 years and 7 months old.

No, it just means that you will be able to get pregnant. I started my period again at 6 months and I nursed my daughter till 17 months. The only reason my supply went down was because I was slowly reducing feeds. And the main reason we stopped was because she was a terrible biter not because of supply. So don't worry momma, you can keep going :)

When mine initially started coming back I felt like I had a slight dip in supply leading up to it. However my daughter is now 15 months old and still breastfeeding, if there is any change now I don't realize it because she only bf's 3 to 4 times a day or night depending on my work schedule. I took fenugreek for two months but just leading up to when I got my period not continually just so I wouldn't see took big of a dip in my supply.
