I have a 3-month breastfeeding son and after his birth I start noticing my hair is coming out like a lot when I comb it. First I ignored it but when the time passes it keeps getting worst. This is my first baby and I don’t know what to expect I am very worried so mentioned my situation to my friends. They told me breastfeeding is the reason why I am losing my hair. Please moms if you have similar experience or any knowledge relating this matter am Eager to hear.

It will stop soon, and because of your hormones from pregnancy and breastfeeding new grows in really fast.

thank you all for sharing your experiences . i feel so clam and relax now after i read your posts that t breastfeeding is not the cause for losing my hair . i hope my hair will stop falling out soon otherwise am gonna be bald.

As a registered cosmetologist, I can confirm for you what all of the above ladies have said. Don't worry about it, it won't last forever, and it is definately NOT the breastfeeding!

It's not the breastfeeding, it's just post partum hormone changes. It's pretty common. It happened to me, and eventually it stopped falling out.

When you are pregnant, you tend to lose a lot less hair on a daily basis, so you have an excess of hair, after you have the baby it seems like your losing a ton of hair, but it all evens out to what it is supposed to be. We are supposed to lose like 100 strands of hair a day, i swear when I was pregnant it was probably 5. LOL Then after like 300 and now its back to normal

It is the changing hormones from pregnancy not the breastfeeding, it happens even if someone is not breastfeeding.

Yep its the pregnancy/birth, not the breastfeeding. Don't worry it does slow down, my daughter is now 8mths and my hair isn't falling out as as much now.

No breastfeeding is not the reason for losing your hair, pregnancy is the reason your losing your hair. It's very normal, I lost a ton of hair but my hair is very thick so I was never concerned that I would be bald. The link below explains it all!
