You can take loratadine tablets. I think it is the generic of claritin. When you look for an antihistime just make sure that it is loratadine as the main ingrediend. It is over the counter. I think Wal-itin from Walgreens is the walgreen version. I have never had any problem with it drying up my milk or causing any adverse reactions. However, call the pharmacist or your child's doctor, since I am not a doctor. My child's pediatrician recommended this to me. Continue to drink lots of fluids, which you need anyway. Do not take sudafed it will dry your milk up.

Most decongestants will decrease your milk supply so be careful. Kellymom.com does have a good list of which medications are safe and which aren't as Davette said; definately check there.

There are many medications that are perfectly safe to take and rarely harmful to your baby. You can take pain relievers, benadryl (but watch for drowsiness in baby), and cough meds. Try to avoid pseudoephedrine (decongestant - Sudafed) or large amounts of menthol because they can reduce your milk supply. Search for the specific drug on kellymom.com and you'll find a lot of information.

not recomended as a lot of these medicines are not made for children and some will come through in your milk, read the label and ask your doctor, it will give you a better idea
