My daughter also had black poop for quite a while, I dont know what it was. And I got very concerned, but I looked at the pictures here and her poop did not look like the one with blood:

I went to the doctors anyways and I had her poop tested and there was no blood, it was normal. Porbably you should also look at the pictures and see. If you think there is a chance of blood, then you may want to get it checked?

Black poop warrants a trip to the doctor if you haven't done so already. If baby is still having them then take a dirty diaper with you so they can test it.

Is your baby on a vitamin with iron in it? Iron can make stool black.

Another possibilty is constipation. Even if she is poo'ing and it seems like a normal amount, it could be getting hard backing up. My daughter had black poops, she pooped at least once a day, if not more. The doctor was concerned about bleeding ulcers, but turned out her poop was backing up and it was changing color due to sitting in her colon for so long. A couple suppositories and she was good as new.

It can me something simple such as a food coloring some candies have black color added. it can also be too much iron, witch is not a big deal it will stop when the rich iron food is completely passed. the concern is that it could also be blood from bleeding in the upper portion of the digestive tract. my advice is to watch her poop and give it time to all pass. avoid candies with dark color until you know thats not what you see and also avoid food high in iron. if it dont stop on it own then you will have to go to a doctor to find out what bleeding is going on and where. this is my opinion.

Reduce solid food from your child's diet. Solid food might cause their stool to be harden and make sure your child drink plenty of water.

My DD is currently taking Mamil, she was also having constipation previously as well. My neighbour asked me to brain wash me to Mamil due to their ingredient could help to prevent constipation. Better give it a try, it works on my child!!!

I believe Mamil will do good for ur case bcos it has prebiotics and no sugar which is very good for children constipation thus preventing it. Also it has the highest DHA in the market now la. Try changing ur milk formula to Mamil la, and u can see results in a week time i think

Hey you could try home remedies! I think is less chemical and good for babies. But for long term prevention I will suggest you to switch to milk powder that contains high pre-biotic!

lol... i forgot to change my name back. we were playing a name game in one of the groups. anyway it really depends on your baby. for me my son don't go much. so i would wait about a week maybe even 2. but if your baby is going a lot and it is black i would not wait much longer. i will find you a better answer and brb...
