i got my period -which 1. i thought i wasnt suppossed to get! and 2. ive got cramps! but im brestfeeding.... anybody have any tips to help with cramps bc ive been told i cant take anything... help i hurt!

What's wrong with Advil (ibuprofen) and breastfeeding? I know it's taboo during pregnancy and for good reason. Just had never heard that before. It's my fav pain medicine and I loved giving birth because it meant I could take ibuprofen for my aches and pains. And yeah, they gave me iburpofen at the hospital and of course i was nursing then.

Hun i feel your pain i as well am in the same boat!! The doctor said i could take Tylenol just not Advil or anything like that. You are going to cramp from breastfeeding. It will be ok i promise you :)

You can get periods when you are breastfeeding, for sure! Can't tell you how many friends of mine, including yours truly, that got pregnant while bfing. You can take anything you want for relief for your cramps. I take ibuprofen. Unless you have a special medical condition that your doctor is aware of and doesn't want you taking any meds.

I would speak to a couple different docotors in regards to not taking anything. I have been told various things, including that tylenol is ok. In the hospital after I had my daughter they gave me tylenol and ibprophen for pain...You best bet is to call a pharmasist and find out if you can take anything.
If you are still uncomfortable about taking anything try hot water bottles over your stomache or a hot bath. Also I found that warm tea helpswith the pain.
As far as you not getting it, it is different with everyone. Have you started taking birth control? that can force a period, if you havent but you are having sex you should as some people say you cant get pregnant while breast feeding but it is the same as not getting your period, some people still do.
