Just for fun- What strange things does your LO do while nursing?

My LO has started pinching my tricep! Ooh that hurts. I keep telling her don't pinch mommy, don't pinch mommy, but she doesn't listen :(

LOL! my LO does the samething... She also likes to pull my lips as she nurses or just touch my face. So I kiss her lil hand to keep from getting my lip pulled off.

I remember one of mine at about 5 months listening to a conversation behind him when being fed, thinking oooh, that sounds interesting and then turning round to join in the conversation without letting go of my nipple. That £$£%£ing hurt, I can tell you.

I also remember one of mine starting to laugh mid feed and covering us both in breast milk.

When one of them was tiny and hungry I remember one of them getting into a complete state when the milk wasn't coming fast enough and growling and worrying my breast like a dog shaking a toy. No teeth at the time fortunately.

I only ever got bitten once - a very sharp NO put an end to that! :)

My 7 month old does the same thing with my bra straps and he smacks my breast, He also pinches me- that hurts! especially if his nails have grown a bit.
He also grabs the other breast and squeezes the nipple.
And he is forever pulling my top down to show off my other breast or both! :P
He forget that he is hungry too with the tv or people talking.
And if he decides he is hungry he buries his head into my chest making a funny snorting sound! haha xxx

It seems that my 6 month old will only nurse consistantly during night time feedings, the first morning feeding and the bedtime feeding. The rest of the time she gets distracted. The cat meows, she wants to see the cat, her sister is reading, she wants to see her sister. My DH is the worst though!

yes, my son keeps pulling back to smile at me or look around too. It is very cute, because sometimes he is just too playful to be bothered with eating. It can be frustrating when I just want to get him fed though! With my daughter, I used to go and feed her in the parents room they provide at the shopping centre. It is a very good room, with small seperate rooms with locking doors for some privacy while breast feeding. Inside is a small arm chair, a stool, a tv and one of those activity centres bolted to the wall to entertain older children while your little one feeds. Well, when I used to go in there with Ella, I had to turn off the tv, turn around the chair so that she couldn't see the activity centre and, if my sister was with me she would have to sit in a corner away from Ella, and not speak the whole time we were in there otherwise she just wouldn't eat! It was frustrating, but she was just too busy to waste time eating. The worst part was though, she always had an incredible memory and even from a very young age would remember that all these things were in there, so even if I positioned her so that they were out of sight she'd pull back and turn her head as far as it would go to try to find them. Unfortunately, you couldn't turn off the lights otherwise I would have done that too!

These are so funny! My 4.5 month old son likes to squeeze the other nipple while nursing, which hurts and isn't so funny. He also smacks at me until letdown. He also will nurse for a while, pull off and smile at me, then coyly go back to nursing. He does it over and over. So cute. The other day he kept pulling off and smiling at a picture on the wall that has a person smiling! He also recently started talking with his mouth full. He'll latch on and when he's close to done he'll start babbling while still latched on. I also love when he is really sleepy and enjoying it and sighs or moans.

My LO is now getting easily distracted so she nurses for a few seconds, looks around then goes back to nursing. She's started scratching at my boob too.

my 5 month old son reaches up and grabs onto my collar bone, and digs his fingernails into it while pulling down at the same time. It hurts! He does it in short bursts, like the way kittens curl their claws and release them while feeding. It is quite odd, and he only does it on one side. I try putting something else there for him to play with, like my hand and let him have my finger to hold. He pulls my hand down, places it on his hip, and then puts his hand straight back and continues attacking my collar bone! I keep putting my hand back, and he does the same thing again. I've tried toys, etc, and he does the same thing with them too - deposits them somewhere down near his hip and goes straight back. When he is on the other side, he straightens his arm so it goes up in the air, so it's pretty much vertical. He doesn't touch anything, just sticks it up there and sometimes waves it slightly from side to side. He cups his hand while he does it, and bends it down towards his head - it reminds me of a ballet pose, with his arms extended up over his head like that! It's very cute, but quite strange especially since it gets worse when he falls asleep. Sometimes he will just be playing with my top or something like that, but as he drifts off to sleep his hand will just start slowly lifting up until it is fully extended in the air.



My daughter used to just stroke my chest from side to side, with her arm extended out straight, but she would also sometimes just extend it into the air and wave it from side to side too. She also used to headbutt me, like literally bounce her head up and down against my breast although I've been told that that is an instinctual thing to encourage let down. Still funny though.

My 4 month old does the same stuff. She fusses and gets on and then fists my breast after the odd "service" smack. Her little fingers pinch! She will also grab whatever piece of my shirt she can reach and hold on for dear life. But now she eats for a bit and then starts looking around with the nipple in her mouth, which can be painful as well...but then she lets go and looks up at me with her beautiful blue eyes and gives me the biggest smiles of all time. It is so worth the little pains. :) (Although she is never finished eating when she gives me the smiles...she fools me and then burps and then needs more!)
