I am 2 weeks post delivery. My child breastfeed excellent for the first few days then wasnt interested anymore. I started pumping and have been pumping since. I have a very low supply, and Im pumping every 3 hours just as if my child was breast feeding. Any ideas on how to increase supply?

Try a breastshield if baby still has trouble latching. Try to get baby to latch with out it first then if not put it on,

First make sure you are not on any prescriptions or over the counter drugs that reduce or dry out your milk supply! I would recommend taking out everything you can and just using Tylenol or Motrin for common pains. Second make sure that you take cabbage out of your diet. Then Pump. You can pump every hour to hour and a half if you really want to increase your supply. Be sure that you are stimulating your milk supply by thinking about your baby or hand pump before you use the machine.

Go to any vitamin store and buy some Fenugreek pills. You wanna take 2 pills 3x a day, or more frequent if needed. It increases your milk, makes it thicker/creamy, and the only bad side effect is that your urine, and sweat smells like maple syrup...which isn't all that bad really. It worked for me. =)

I having been pumping exclusivly for the past 6weeks, and I found the key to increasing your supply is to pump every two to three hours, after your milk stops coming out quickly continue to pump for 5-10minutes longer. Hope this helps!

Pumping is not as efficient as your baby. The best way to increase your supply is to put your baby to the breast. Your supply hasn't and won't regulate until about 3 months so your body won't know how much to make unless your baby tells it (by breastfeeding). That is why exclusively pumping is so difficult for a lot of moms.
